#1: Mommy, will you marry me?
me: Absolutely!
#1: You will be the princess then. I am a Prince! #2 is the littlest Prince -- he will want to marry you too, but I'm the big Prince and I asked first.

#2: Night, night.
me: Night, night #2 (put him in bed)
#2: NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Boooook.
me: Which book would you like to read? (break bedtime rules 1-10 and pull #2 back out of bed to choose story)
#2 takes off running at mock 10 into #1's bedroom; hides visibly in the corner giggling
me: What happened to night, night?
#2: Na Don (not done)
me: Will you ever be done?
#2: No (with this smile that reads ... lady, you are such a sucker ... it really shouldn't be this easy)

And finally ... #1 really likes to understand his schedule for the week - what day it is, when the weekend is coming up (Friday), is it a day that I work from home or in the office (Wednesday), will there be a babysitter tonight, etc. The questions are endless... So I found these freaking adorable Paul Frank underwear last week - 7 pairs, each with a monkey on the tush and the day of the week written above or below the monkey. #1 wakes up each morning and dresses himself - starting with, "Mommy, I see a "T" ... is this Tuesday?
Yesterday - "Monday" - he proudly walked into school and dropped his pants and monkey mooned his class. "Look, it's Monday!" I'm so proud. :)
A Boy Fills A House With Joy And Love ... not to mention turtles and frogs, balls of all sizes, cowboy guns, lightning bugs, and bubble gum.

Get Your Hat
Today is Mr. Right's birthday. He's on the road, so #1 and #2 celebrated his birthday for him within our 4 walls. The day started with a very enthusiastic version of "Happy Birthday". #2 doesn't know the words, but he chimed in with a "DA-DEEEEEE" every now and then.
#1: Will Daddy have a party in NY today?
me: I don't think so, he has to fly to OH tonight so he'll be on a plane.
#1: Well he can have a party on the plane. He just needs cake or cupcakes.
me: You're right buddy. Maybe he will have a party on the plane.
#1: Will he wear his party hat?
So, Mr. Right ... I hope you're at the hotel bar ringing in another year ... with your party hat on. When is it not on, really?
xoxoxo

Quote of the Day from #1
Happy Birthday Aunt T!!
#1 had to go back to the doctor today to get all of the immunizations that were supposed to come with his physical last week. He escaped them last week because he had a small fever. Hooray for both of us! I have a hard time with the immunizations at this point in #1's life because he is so strong ... and strong willed ... I have to wrap my body around his and pin him down while he gets his shots and blood drawn. This makes the process awful for both of us.
So we were both a little anxious this morning as we were waiting in the exam room. I brought some crayons and we were drawing on the exam table paper. Our pediatrician plays great music at #11 (to drown out the screaming children, perhaps). It is usually very upbeat and something #1 likes to shake his booty to. This morning was classical. The classics were playing and #1 and I were well into writing his full name across the exam table when he looks at me and says, "I hear something MYSTERIOUS!"
